Maintenance Utility Team Member

The Maintenance Utility Team Member assists in maintaining restaurant equipment as well as management in achieving and maintaining outstanding interior and exterior restaurant cleanliness. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, with excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to take initiative and possess skills for problem-solving. The role requires an individual to be efficient, possess high energy, and be very detail-oriented. The Maintenance Utility Team Member is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the kitchen and restaurant by maintaining cleanliness standards through the operation of dish washing equipment and sinks, removing garbage, cleaning of equipment and work areas including the sweeping and mopping of floors. Washing dishes at a professional level is different than in your own kitchen. Commercial dishwashers are not always able to accommodate larger pans and pots so they may occasionally need to be washed by hand. Repairs and maintains the physical structures of the kitchen area, using hand and power tools. Replaces defective parts and repairs machinery. The primary focus is Kitchen machinery.

In addition, they may be asked to assist with:

  • Taking garbage and trash to the dumpster area

  • Washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls, and floors

  • Assembling, maintaining, and breaking down the dish machine

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day

  • Ability to place cases, pans, & utensils on both low and high shelves

  • Ability to work in a hot environment

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations to avoid endangering themselves or others

  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements.

  • Responsible for cleaning the food production areas in the kitchen and restaurants including walls, floors, and other areas as necessary.

  • Complete repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, ice machines, mixers, hood systems, and refrigeration systems.

  • Assist with the repair of warranty work by coordinating the respective equipment repair with outside contracted warranty technicians.
